Join.me is an application that is downloaded from the internet. Once you create an account and a "room" Join.me allows you to share screens and chat. It is very useful for businesses and students, whether it is used for long distance meetings or to collaborate on school projects. The only drawback on Join.me is the poor video quality.

Twitch is a live streaming video service. It is primarily used by gamers, but it is also used by musicians, and people who simply want their opinion out there. You can watch streams two possible ways, live or through video on demand which allows you to watch later when you have more time. Twitch has two drawbacks. Firstly, if you're live streaming, there is a delay in the comments between the viewers and the live stream. Secondly, Twitch tends to lag and it loses video quality often.
I would give Twitch 4/5 stars. You can find Twitch here. Yacapaca is a free to use site that is primarily used by teachers. The teachers can choose their country and curriculum. Then they must choose the subject they are teaching, and then more specifically, the topic. Once they find their desired topic, they can either use tests uploaded from other users on the website or they can upload their test for others to use. One drawback of Yacapaca is that there is a limited range of subjects covered.
You can find Yacapaca here. I give this tool a rating of 3/5 stars. Discord is a free to use communication tool for gamers. Although you can only chat and talk with others, the site is still very complex. On Discord, there are two type of communication, direct and indirect. To chat directly, you must simply add them to your contacts. To chat indirectly, you can create your own server and invite people to it. A feature that is unique to Discord is that once you create your chatroom(s), you can create sub-chatrooms- within the main chatroom. Another feature that I like is that is is completely lag free compared to other Web 2.0 tools such as Skype. One drawback of Discord is that it is very confusing at first and requires a lot of time to fully understand how to use the site.
I give this tool a rating of 5/5 stars. You can find this tool here. Skype is an application and website that allows you to communicate with other people. You can communicate through chat, emojis, and calls. Skype is FREE to use and is a very useful tool for work, or for gaming. There are two complaints I have with Skype. First, when you enter a chatroom with many unread messages, Skype tends to lag and then crash. Secondly, Skype randomly drops calls from time to time.
I give Skype a rating of 4.5/5 stars. You can find Skype here. This blog will be used for my Web 2.0 class. I will be posting reviews of different Web 2.0 tools here.
